Archview does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.

What stays on your device

Everything. Your library, your reading positions, your highlights, and your display settings are stored only in the app's own storage on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

What leaves your device

Only the requests needed to find and download the papers you ask for:

• openalex.org — when you search, your search text is sent to OpenAlex to get results. When you import a paper by link or ID, that ID is sent to look up its title and authors.
• arxiv.org and ar5iv.labs.arxiv.org — when you save a paper, Archview downloads that paper's HTML and its images so you can read it offline.

These requests carry no account, no device identifier, and no profile. Archview has no accounts and no login. Each of these services has its own privacy practices, which are outside Archview's control.

What Archview does not do

• No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting
• No advertising and no advertising identifiers
• No tracking across apps or websites
• No selling or sharing of data, because none is collected
• No access to your contacts, photos, location, camera, or microphone

Children

Archview is a reader for academic papers and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
